08.03.2011· So now you know why we put 10 frames in a 10-frame box. The system is designed to provide the proper bee space. I find that starting off with 10 works best to get the bees to build straight combs. After a year or two, when things start to get tight in the box, you can remove one and space the rest. I agree with your mentor.
